Sus bandas favoritas son The Black Crowes, The Alman Brothers Band, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Little Feat, Humble Pie, Faces y muchas más.

From the mid-90s to early 2000, he would transition with his band Boneyard from playing covers by the Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and more recent bands like the Black Crowes and Blind Melon, to playing original tunes composed by Carlos and arranged by all band members. The band would have their first professional recording experience at Primera Generación Records in Guatemala, changing the band's name to Jardín de Huesos. A name that was more adequate for their Spanish-written lyrics.

The band would be part of a famous movement in El Salvador in the late 90s, which gave them some airplay but plenty of live performances. The band was always cataloged as one against all current tendencies and stuck to the classic rock kind of feel.

A long seven-year pause came for Carlos as a musician as his day job took most of his time. Nevertheless, music always finds a way in a musician's life.

His gigging days resumed with several cover projects and gave him the opportunity to start writing music again. A much more mature musical approach would make him now pursue the kind of music he always wanted to play.

During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, time was at hand and the band- now called Boneyard again- put together an EP called #lockdownsessions which was recorded separately at each bandmember's house and showcased with a series of videos premiered on YouTube and later on streamed on all platforms through CDbaby.

Recently, their long awaited LP was released on December 5th, 2024, with re-recorded tunes from the #lockdownsessions and newly recorded songs.
